Ms. Zuzanna joined the Lolly’s family in July 2014. She attended Hunter College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She is currently enrolled in Hunter's graduate school, pursuing a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves working with young children and will always be surprised at the silly things they say. She hopes to encourage each child through their learning experiences and tries her best to create a positive and safe environment. In her spare time, Zuzanna enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Zuzanna has proven to be a wonderful addition to the Lolly's family.
Ms. Claudia was born and raised in Colombia and came to the United States when she was 15. She worked in various daycare centers and preschools over the summers, leading up to her graduation from high school in 2002. Through this summer job experience, Claudia realized her innate passion for working with children. She loves to teach little ones and is extremely proud to be an important person in their daily lives. To be seen as a mentor, and sometimes even a hero, by her students is something that Claudia finds really gratifying. Claudia is also a student, attending York College with a major in Spanish and a minor in Psychology. Her goal is become a Spanish teacher and help people learn the beautiful language. Her dream is for the the world to become more tolerant of different ethnicities and accept all people. She believes that by learning different languages, we take a small step towards accepting people from different backgrounds by making their language part of us. Ms. Claudia joined the Lolly's family in 2017. We are grateful to have her on board and excited to see the immense impact she will have on the little learners in her class.
Ms. Diamond graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She loved learning about her major and remembers numerous lectures that she applies to her classroom today. She enjoys different cultures and learning new languages. She is currently attending Brooklyn College and constantly brings pieces of her current education back to us at the center. Ms. Diamond has been the Head Teacher of our 3 year old class since September 2013. Prior to that, she worked at Brighter Babies in the 18 month old class and also has a wealth of experience as a nanny. Ms. Diamond is the proud mommy of Melanie, a star student in our Red Room.
Ms. Rosalyn has a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Psychology, received with honors from Queens College. She is currently attending graduate school at Hunter College, pursuing her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children of all ages, and especially loves working with the children at Lolly's. She loves watching the children grow and her favorite activity is reading to the children. She has been working at Lolly's since March 2014. Ms. Rosalyn has a wonderful rapport with her co-teachers, the parents and children at Lolly's. She is a true gem.
Ms. Alexis has interned at Lolly's for the past three summers. In 2014 she joined the Lolly's family officially as an additional part-time assistant in the Blue Room and a center floater. Ms. Alexis is pursuing her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from St. John's University. Ms. Alexis loves spending time with the children and tapping into their unique interests and personalities. She is an active member of the Hellenic Society and Kappa Delta Pi, a national honors society for education majors. Please join us in welcoming Ms. Alexis back to Lolly's.
Ms. Saury joined Lolly’s family in August 2014 as a web consultant. She designed, built and developed Lolly’s brand new website for 2015. Prior to Lolly’s she taught for three years in a bilingual school in Colombia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Universidad del Norte, Colombia, as well as a United States equivalent from World Education Services. Ms. Saury worked as a substitute teacher and center closer in the Blue Room for three months, before recently moving to California. She is very grateful to be part of the amazing Lolly's family.
Mr. Ivan has been at Lolly's since the center opened in 2010. He has been molding young minds for over 8 years and really enjoys it. He takes great pride in assisting every child grow and accomplish their goals. Mr. Ivan recently completed his Bachelor's degree in English with a focus on Early Childhood Education and is currently looking into various Masters programs. Mr. Ivan is known for the great relationships he develops with the parents, teachers and especially the children at Lolly's. Mr. Ivan has taken on the role of head teacher with great devotion and motivation.
Ms. Christa is no stranger to the Lolly's family. She began as an Assistant Teacher in the Blue Room in 2012. She was promoted to Head Teacher in the Red Room from February 2013-August 2014. Ms. Christa is currently a Paraprofessional in a Special Education 6/7th grade class in Far Rockaway. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from St.John's University. Ms. Christa is wonderful with the children and parents at Lolly's. She also has a wonderful rapport with the other teachers at the center. We are thrilled that she remains part of our Lolly's family as a substitute teacher and afternoon closer.
Ms. Suzette was born and raised in New York. She has experience working with children ranging from 3 months to 5 years. In 2013, Ms. Suzette worked at Lincoln Center for America Reads and later began working at Brighter Babies for 2.5 years. In 2015, Ms. Suzette joined the Lolly's family as a center floater and substitute. Upon graduating in 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Spanish, Ms. Suzette was promoted to a full-time Assistant Teacher in the Red Room. Suzette enjoys being with the children and helping them grow as individuals. In addition to working at Lolly's, Ms. Suzette is also a student-athlete at Fordham University and part of the Fordham Women's Varsity Rowing team. Ms. Suzette will start graduate school in the Fall of 2017.
Ms. Stephanie has been at Lolly's since January 2011. She has a Master Degree in Education and is a NYS Certified Elementary School Teacher. She has worked in Special, Elementary and Early Childhood. After trying them all, she realized Early Childhood Education was her passion. Stephanie feels honored to take on the responsibility of helping guide children and families through their important developmental milestones. She has taken on the role of Head Universal Pre- Kindergarten teacher with enthusiasm and perseverance. She IS awesome!
Ms. Felicia has 6 years of experience working with children ages 2-5. She has been with Lolly's since 2013. She is currently obtaining her degree in Child Psychology. She is very charismatic and finds unique ways to connect with the children, allowing them to express their individuality. She supports the Lolly’s family like no other! Ms. Felicia has worked in all classrooms at Lolly's, proving to be an enormous asset to the team. She knows nearly all the teachers, families and children at the center and is an amazing team player. In 2016, Ms. Felicia was promoted to a full-time assistant teacher in our Universal Pre-Kindergarten class. She rose above all expectations in her new role, taking in on with confidence and energy. We are very lucky to have Ms. Felicia.
Ms. Ilana is the founder and Educational Director of Lolly's Early Learning Center. Ilana takes great pride in Lolly's and loves interacting with the parents, teachers and children on a daily basis. Ilana opened Lolly's in 2009 and was overwhelmed by the love and support she received from the LIC community. In 2011, Ilana co-founded and opened Brighter Babies. In 2014, she left Brighter Babies in order to solely focus on her first baby (Lolly's) and the newest arrival to her family (baby Mikey born in 2015). Ilana loves celebrating the children and teachers- they are the reason why Lolly's is such an amazing place. Parents love her joy and enthusiasm. Ilana is very grateful to the LIC community and her amazing staff. She is always striving to make Lolly's even more rewarding for the families, children and teachers. She looks forward to many more successful years in the neighborhood.
Ms. Jessica has been part of the Lolly’s team since October 2013. She is very creative and enjoys any opportunity to explore the arts with the children. Her dream of working with children came true when she started working at Lolly’s. She enjoys giving the children the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s world. She treats the children with respect and love- to the same extent she would her own children. Ms. Jessica has an amazing relationship with the staff, students, and parents. She started at Lolly's as an Assistant Teacher in our Yellow Room and became the center's Administrative Assistant in December 2014.
Ms. Keesha, founder of Stepping Stone decided to combine her knowledge of early childhood education with her passion for dance to create a movement and dance company for early education aged children. She has been teaching dance for the last 10 years throughout her hometown, Los Angeles and New York City. She has studied dance at Cal State Los Angeles and holds a B.S degree in Psychology. She has been trained in dance styles such as modern, ballet, jazz, bollywood and hip hop. She has performed in such venues such as Radio City Music Hall and the Nokia Theatre. Her love of dance has led her on a journey to help children develop motor skills, creativity through movement, and sense of self.
Ms. Susan grew up in the East Village. She received a ukulele when she was 5 and a guitar when she was 10. She composes her own music, writes songs and has learned many children's songs, folk songs and rock songs over the years. She worked as an Assistant Teacher of a 4 year old class for 6 years and enjoyed singing to her students everyday. She and her husband have 2 daughters. Susan's interests include sketching, visual arts, and ancient Greek dance. Ms. Susan is also a licensed tree pruner.
DJ Natalie has brought her joyful style and undeniable skill to dance floors across the US, Europe and Asia. Stand out sets include Carnegie Hall, PS1 WARM UP, a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom and CA$$ETTE, a party she threw with World DJ Champion i.e. Merge and Jimmy Edgar among others. She has also DJ’d benefits with the actors Steve Martin and Meryl Streep and shared bills with members of LCD Soundsystem, Machinedrum, Milky Chance, Prince Rama, Psychic TV, and Dirty Projectors. Corporate clients include Lululemon, Uber and Spotify. From disco and world to hip-hip and rock, rare grooves and house to reggae and top 40, DJ Natalie hand tailors her mixes to the needs of her clients. Although she cut her teeth in the Brooklyn underground, DJ Natalie has got family-friendly on lock: she is the founder of Baby DJ School, the world renown program where she teaches ages 2 months-5 years how to spin. Baby DJ School was the subject of a VICE documentary and was also featured in The Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, SPIN, GQ, Village Voice, New York Magazine, TimeOut NY, on Good Morning America, the BBC, NPR, as well as newspapers around the globe. With multiple locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and master classes taught all over the world, she is committed to teaching the super young to mix music that is super dope.
Ms. Dayvin owns and directs her own music studio, which offers general music classes for children under age 5, group piano lessons, and private lessons for all ages. She has been teaching piano for over 10 years. Sterling received her Bachelor's of the Arts in Piano Performance from Stetson university and her Master's of the Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Alabama. She currently collaborates with Seymour Bernstein, a faculty member at the Steinhardt music program atN Y U. Dayvin is excited to offer music classes at Lolly' s. She states, "The greatest part of teaching music is seeing the excitement and enthusiasm of a young child fully engaged in rhythm and melody. There is a light within that shines through when a child hears and plays music."
Ms. Julia is a kids and adult yoga teacher, teaching artist, and actress in NYC. Julia received her 200-hour RYA certification from Back Bay Yoga in Boston, MA and her 25-hour Kids Yoga Certification from Hosh Kids' Kids at Heart training. She is also the Founder & Artistic Director of The Neighborhood Theatre Project and earned her BFA in Acting from Boston University. Julia has been teaching kids yoga, creative movement, theatre, improv, playwriting, creative storytelling, theatre ensemble, and Shakespeare to students throughout NYC, Boston, and Cleveland, Ohio - where she is originally from - for over 10 years. She believes yoga creates community and fosters creativity, awareness, compassion and physical development in students of all ages.
Ms. Jocelyn is an ASL Leader who is proud to be a part of the ASL Discoveries Team! What started as an American Sign Language minor, at New School University, has become a passion of hers to share the language with all ages. Sign language fascinates her for its accessibility to storytelling and expression. She truly enjoys teaching ASL, especially when she gets to witness the creative sparks that happen when children are learning a new sign for the first time!
Maestra Michelle worked for 15 years in marketing for one of the largest multinational telecommunications companies in the world out of their headquarters in Madrid, Spain. Having lived her entire life in Madrid, she moved with her family to the United States wanting to make a career change into education in the beginning of 2015. She got her certification as a Spanish as a Second Language teacher with the Instituto de Cervantes in New York. Since then, she has been working as a Spanish as a Second Language teacher in different after school programs and summer camps in NYC including at Avenues The World School last year. She has experience working with kids of all ages as she is also a Spanish tutor. Michelle is a mom of a 2.5 years old, and she is raising her daughter with her husband in a bilingual home. She really enjoys growing with her students through dedication and above all else a tender loving approach to learning. She is really excited to be a part of the Lolly’s family!
