Ms. Zuzanna joined the Lolly’s family in July 2014. She attended Hunter College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She is currently enrolled in Hunter's graduate school, pursuing a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. She loves working with young children and will always be surprised at the silly things they say. She hopes to encourage each child through their learning experiences and tries her best to create a positive and safe environment. In her spare time, Zuzanna enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Zuzanna has proven to be a wonderful addition to the Lolly's family.
Ms. Dina joined the Lolly's team as a substitute and center floater in February 2017. She was promoted to full time Assistant Teacher in the Yellow Room in February 2018. She has many years of experience with children of all ages. She has volunteered at several events involving children with one of her most memorable experiences being her volunteer work at the Special Olympics. Ms Dina is very enthusiastic. She loves to watch the children grow and progress. She says the best reward for her is knowing she is part of that growth. Lolly's has given her the opportunity to fulfill her passion and nothing warms her heart more than hearing the giggle of a child. Ms Dina is currently pursuing the NYS Teacher Assistant (Paraprofessional) Certification. She has attended Queens College with a main focus on Early Childhood Education and Sociology. Her experience at Lolly's has inspired her to work towards the completion of her degree.
In 2018, we are honored to welcome Tania Duran to the Lolly's team. Ms. Tania holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently attending Hunter College, majoring in Spanish and minoring in Psychology. She has worked with children of many ages, from 3 months to about 5 year olds. She truly loves watching the children grow and learn! She has also had a lot of nanny/babysitting experience, especially in the LIC neighborhood. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is very excited to work at Lolly’s and we are thrilled to have her.
Ms. Courtney grew up in Greenville, SC but has been a resident of NYC for almost a decade. She graduated in Spring 2017 with a degree in Liberal Arts and is looking to pursue another degree in Child Development. She has had several years of experience as an assistant teacher with children ranging from infant to 5 years old, and has over 15 years of experience of caring for children as a nanny and babysitter. Courtney is certified in first aid, as well as adult and child CPR. She has a background in music and theatre, and she likes to apply that creativity and skill when working with children. Educating and caring for children is truly Courtney’s greatest passion in life, and she is thrilled to be joining the Lolly family!
Ms. Rosalyn has a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Psychology, received with honors from Queens College. She is currently attending graduate school at Hunter College, pursuing her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children of all ages, and especially loves working with the children at Lolly's. She loves watching the children grow and her favorite activity is reading to the children. She has been working at Lolly's since March 2014. Ms. Rosalyn has a wonderful rapport with her co-teachers, the parents and children at Lolly's. She is a true gem.
Ms. Gaby has experience with children of most ages. She grew up babysitting her neighbors' children and as an adult was employed as a nanny. As a parent, she understands the need to have great care for our little ones and is honored to provide this care to the children at Lolly's. Gaby holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, though her other passion has always been working with children. She is looking to go back to school in the coming months to work towards her Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Physiology. Gaby is bilingual in English and Spanish. Gaby started at Lolly's in early 2018 as a substitute teacher and was promoted to Assistant Teacher of the Blue Room in July 2018. She is truly amazing with the children and parents. We are very lucky to have her!.
Ms. Saury joined Lolly’s family in August 2014 as a web consultant. She designed, built and developed Lolly’s brand new website for 2015. Prior to Lolly’s she taught for three years in a bilingual school in Colombia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Universidad del Norte, Colombia, as well as a certificate in Early Childhood Education from UCLA extension. Ms. Saury worked as a substitute teacher and center closer in the Blue Room for three months, before moving to California. She is very grateful to be part of the amazing Lolly's family.
Mr. Ivan has been at Lolly's since the center opened in 2010. He has been molding young minds for over 8 years and really enjoys it. He takes great pride in assisting every child grow and accomplish their goals. Mr. Ivan recently completed his Bachelor's degree in English with a focus on Early Childhood Education and is currently looking into various Masters programs. Mr. Ivan is known for the great relationships he develops with the parents, teachers and especially the children at Lolly's. Mr. Ivan has taken on the role of head teacher with great devotion and motivation.
Ms. Christina joined the Lolly's family in 2018. She is currently obtaining an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education . Growing up, her favorite thing to do was babysit and spend time with younger children. She has babysat for many family members and close friends which led to her becoming a nanny as an adult. After a few years as a nanny, Ms. Christina decided she wanted to teach even more children and became an Assistant Teacher at a program in Brooklyn. This is when she found her niche. Christina loves children of all ages and takes great pleasure in seeing them grow. She particularly enjoys how they grasp new information from things they see, hear, touch and smell. We are absolutely thrilled to have Christina at Lolly's. She has been a wonderful asset and addition to our family.
Ms. Diamond graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She loved learning about her major and remembers numerous lectures that she applies to her classroom today. She enjoys different cultures and learning new languages. She is currently attending Brooklyn College and constantly brings pieces of her current education back to us at the center. Ms. Diamond has been the Head Teacher of our 3 year old class since September 2013. Prior to that, she worked at Brighter Babies in the 18 month old class and also has a wealth of experience as a nanny. Ms. Diamond welcomed a new addition to her family in 2018 (a second beautiful baby girl). She will be returning to Lolly's full time in September 2018 as an Assistant Teacher in our Red Room
Ms. Christa is no stranger to the Lolly's family. She began as an Assistant Teacher in the Blue Room in 2012. She was promoted to Head Teacher in the Red Room from February 2013-August 2014. Ms. Christa is currently a Paraprofessional in a Special Education 6/7th grade class in Far Rockaway. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from St.John's University. Ms. Christa is wonderful with the children and parents at Lolly's. She also has a wonderful rapport with the other teachers at the center. We are thrilled that she remains part of our Lolly's family as a substitute teacher and afternoon closer.
Ms. Suzette was born and raised in New York. She has experience working with children ranging from 3 months to 5 years. In 2013, Ms. Suzette worked at Lincoln Center for America Reads and later began working at Brighter Babies for 2.5 years. In 2015, Ms. Suzette joined the Lolly's family as a center floater and substitute. Upon graduating in 2017 with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Spanish, Ms. Suzette was promoted to a full-time Assistant Teacher in the Red Room. In September 2018, Ms. Suzette will be fulfilling her student teaching requirement for her graduate degree so will only be working at Lolly's 2 full days/ week. Suzette enjoys being with the children and helping them grow as individuals. In addition to working at Lolly's, Ms. Suzette is also a student-athlete at Fordham University and part of the Fordham Women's Varsity Rowing team
Ms. Stephanie has been at Lolly's since January 2011. She has a Master Degree in Education and is a NYS Certified Elementary School Teacher. She has worked in Special, Elementary and Early Childhood. After trying them all, she realized Early Childhood Education was her passion. Stephanie feels honored to take on the responsibility of helping guide children and families through their important developmental milestones. She has taken on the role of Head Universal Pre- Kindergarten teacher with enthusiasm and perseverance. She IS awesome!
Ms. Felicia has 6 years of experience working with children ages 2-5. She has been with Lolly's since 2013. She is currently obtaining her degree in Child Psychology. She is very charismatic and finds unique ways to connect with the children, allowing them to express their individuality. She supports the Lolly’s family like no other! Ms. Felicia has worked in all classrooms at Lolly's, proving to be an enormous asset to the team. She knows nearly all the teachers, families and children at the center and is an amazing team player. In 2016, Ms. Felicia was promoted to a full-time assistant teacher in our Universal Pre-Kindergarten class. She rose above all expectations in her new role, taking in on with confidence and energy. We are very lucky to have Ms. Felicia.
Ms. Vivian joined the Lolly’s family in September of 2017. She currently attends SUNY Empire State College and is studying Early Childhood Education. She enjoys working with young children, helping them grow and learn, as well as helping them embrace who they are as individuals. She says the best part of working with kids is the love that they have for you and the bond that develops between a child and his/her teacher, as well as the silly stories they like to tell. In her spare time she joys spending time with friends and family. She also spends a couple hours a week doing Folklore Greek Dancing and helps out once a week teaching traditional dances to kids of all ages at the Greek American Folklore Society.
Ms. Ilana is the founder and Educational Director of Lolly's Early Learning Center. Ilana takes great pride in Lolly's and loves interacting with the parents, teachers and children on a daily basis. Ilana opened Lolly's in 2009 and was overwhelmed by the love and support she received from the LIC community. In 2011, Ilana co-founded and opened Brighter Babies. In 2014, she left Brighter Babies in order to solely focus on her first baby (Lolly's) and the newest arrival to her family (baby Mikey born in 2015). Ilana loves celebrating the children and teachers- they are the reason why Lolly's is such an amazing place. Parents love her joy and enthusiasm. Ilana is very grateful to the LIC community and her amazing staff. She is always striving to make Lolly's even more rewarding for the families, children and teachers. She looks forward to many more successful years in the neighborhood.
Ms. Jessica has been part of the Lolly’s team since October 2013. She is very creative and enjoys any opportunity to explore the arts with the children. Her dream of working with children came true when she started working at Lolly’s. She enjoys giving the children the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s world. She treats the children with respect and love- to the same extent she would her own children. Ms. Jessica has an amazing relationship with the staff, students, and parents. She started at Lolly's as an Assistant Teacher in our Yellow Room and became the center's Administrative Assistant in December 2014.
DJ Natalie has brought her joyful style and undeniable skill to dance floors across the US, Europe and Asia. Stand out sets include Carnegie Hall, PS1 WARM UP, a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom and CA$$ETTE, a party she threw with World DJ Champion i.e. Merge and Jimmy Edgar among others. She has also DJ’d benefits with the actors Steve Martin and Meryl Streep and shared bills with members of LCD Soundsystem, Machinedrum, Milky Chance, Prince Rama, Psychic TV, and Dirty Projectors. Corporate clients include Lululemon, Uber and Spotify. From disco and world to hip-hip and rock, rare grooves and house to reggae and top 40, DJ Natalie hand tailors her mixes to the needs of her clients. Although she cut her teeth in the Brooklyn underground, DJ Natalie has got family-friendly on lock: she is the founder of Baby DJ School, the world renown program where she teaches ages 2 months-5 years how to spin. Baby DJ School was the subject of a VICE documentary and was also featured in The Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, SPIN, GQ, Village Voice, New York Magazine, TimeOut NY, on Good Morning America, the BBC, NPR, as well as newspapers around the globe. With multiple locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and master classes taught all over the world, she is committed to teaching the super young to mix music that is super dope.
Ms. Lauren has found immense joy in writing and teaching children's music in Long Island City since becoming a proud mom of 2. She writes in concepts and melodies that aim to resonate with the energy, spirit, curiosity and humor of kids. She is the co-director of local children’s choir Sing LIC (along with Mary Duncan Stein), and has produced and directed the annual LIC Holiday Concert to benefit St Jude’s 5 years in a row. She is also the composer/lyricist and musical director for the acclaimed off-Broadway company, Waterwell, (dubbed “Brilliant, original and inspired” by the NY Times) and a long-standing member of BMI’s Advanced Musical Theater Workshop. As a singer / songwriter, Lauren has released two albums with her band, and her upcoming third will be an album of her children's songs. She had the honor to compose for SYREN Modern Dance, the Professional Performing Arts High School (PPAS), and countless short films and commercials. She graduated from Indiana University and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), and received her M.A. in Composition from New York University. She is a recipient of Meet The Composer grants for her work with aspiring high school composers and songwriters. She is delighted to join the Lolly’s family to teach music on Tuesdays throughout the month of May.
Ms. Alison Alison Walter is a teacher, performer, and producer in New York City and The Berkshires. She teaches yoga, dance, and theatre to people of all ages. Alison received her 200 Hour Yoga teacher training from Kripalu Center of Yoga and Health in Massachusetts, 25 Hour Kids Yoga teacher training from HOSH Kids in Brooklyn, and recently completed her 300 Hour Yoga and Dance teacher training with Durga's Tiger School in Ecuador. She studied drama at LaGuardia High School, and received her BFA in Acting from Ithaca College. Alison performs on stage and screen, and has produced and acted in two short films and one feature. She has been teaching for five years, and treasures every moment as an opportunity to share her passions. Alison's yoga classes include intentional breath and movement, practicing mindfulness, and the ever so important invitation to play.
Ms. Crystal My name is Crystal I have been working for ASL Discoveries since September of 2016. I am a Deaf ASL Leader. My journey as a Deaf woman has inspired me to make a difference in the lives of others. I love spreading knowledge about the Deaf Community through ASL and showing the world that deaf can do anything!
Mr. David is a professional experiential educator with over 18 years of educational programming experience. He has a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management from Northern Arizona University and is passionate about educating his clients on healthy lifestyles, the importance of play and adventure, and expanding comfort zones. In the last 18 years he has run numerous martial arts programs, adventure education programs across 3 countries, taught outdoor survival and environmental education classes, run high ropes and adventure courses, been a teacher at BASIS Charter schools, worked as a professional team-builder and facilitator for both kids and corporate programs, been a program director at numerous summer camps, and has trained other professional facilitators and guides. David spends his free time escaping from New York into the wilderness, dancing, practicing woodwork and magic, playing harmonica, developing new programs, traveling around the world and exploring different cultures, and exploring any unique experiences he can find in the area he is currently in. He is excited to be working with the youth at Lolly's Early Learning Center and looks forward to creating a magical program for all who enter the classroom.
